Big Brother Australia shut down

Filming on the new season of Big Brother Australia has been paused after a crew member came into contact with somebody who has contracted COVID-19.

An Endemol Shine Australia spokesperson said; “We have been made aware that a Big Brother crew member has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. The crew member is currently feeling well and showing no symptoms of the virus, however, is being tested and is now self-isolating.”

As a precaution, the site is currently in lockdown pending testing and further advice.

“We continue to work within all Federal and State guidelines and will always make the health, safety and well-being of our cast and crew our number one priority. Housemates have been brought up to date with the current situation,” the spokesperson said.

According to TV Blackbox, crew members have been sent home for 48 hours to self isolate.

If tests come back positive, it could see the entire production on the show shut down for 14 days.

Filming on Big Brother Australia will resume on 24/3/20 Endemol Shine Australia confirmed in a statement to Big Blagger

“The test result for our Big Brother crew member believed to be exposed to COVID-19 has come back negative. We will resume filming Big Brother tomorrow and will continue to work within all Federal and State guidelines.”
